Baby Massage, Why they Love it

Regular massage goes miles to bonding with your baby and is reassuring and comforting for newborns all the way to toddlers. In the animal kingdom, mothers constantly lick their young, which stimulates their digestive and excretory system. Caring for a baby without regular massage allows many emotional and health problems to persist.

Massage promotes emotional, mental and physical well-being. Babies relax more, are more content, fuss and cry less, the sleep better and the develop well with routine massage sessions. Massaging the baby has also shown to help mother’s through the baby-blues. Its also wonderful for fathers who may miss out on bonding time.

How to Massage Your Baby

First, let's cover what creams never to use on a baby;

  • Aqueous cream contains properties that may irritate a baby’s delicate skin
  • Mustard oil is toxic to anyone’s skin, especially that of a baby
  • Peanut oil may cause an allergic reaction

Second, after bathing the baby in a warm room with no draught, warm a little pure organic, natural oil such as Supersalve Cell Care Oil, in your hands. Start on the baby’s legs till it learns it is comforting and pleasant. Only featherlight touch is required on the soles of a baby’s feet, which are super-sensitive and full of pressure points.

Arms and hands are similarly pleasurable. Always do the same movements so the baby learns to know what is coming. AS you work onto the tummy area make sure not to tickle. Slightly deeper pressure will work well on baby’s back and head and very gentle circular motions with the fingertips will be wonderful across the forehead and cheeks and chin.

Enjoy precious moments reassuring and bonding with baby knowing you’re strengthening the digestive system and helping your baby to develop emotionally mentally, physically, and even socially.

Start with a small amount of Cell Care Oil in an oil your baby already knows. When you are sure baby's skin loves the all natural, pure ingredients, up the ratio accordingly.

Ingredients: Calendula, Camphor, Clove, Comfrey, Eucalyptus, Grapeseed Oil, Honey, Rosemary, St John’s Wort.
